We are currently seeking an Area Director of Sales to oversee our sales department. You will lead sales efforts for Hyatt Place Dulles, Homewood Suites Dulles North Loudoun, and Embassy Suites Dulles North Loudoun. Responsibilities include outside sales calls, acquiring new accounts, conducting site tours, and networking with the local business community to drive hotel sales. You will also handle forecasting, creating promotional materials, and communicating with the Area General Manager.
This position may require flexible scheduling.
Requirements
Solicit, negotiate, and book new and repeat business
Actively sell room nights through outside sales calls, telemarketing, site tours, etc.
Direct, train, and supervise Sales and Catering Managers and the Sales Coordinator
Meet or exceed budgeted REVPAR
Develop the hotel's annual marketing and sales plan
Forecast occupancy fluctuations and direct selling activities to maximize revenue
Ensure team members are familiar with key accounts and specifics of business booked
Qualifications
Previous experience in hotel sales required
Experience with Lighthouse, ProfitSword, and Hotel Sales Force Automation is a plus
Strong negotiation and communication skills
Knowledge of demand segments and market competition
Motivated team player with initiative and achievement drive
Effective problem-solving skills
Ability to work well under stress
The physical demands include standing, sitting, walking, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
