Position: Director, API Commercial Operations
FLSA Status: Exempt
Location: Coventry, Rhode Island (onsite)
We are on the search for API Product Director to join our Pharmaron's manufacturing site in Coventry, RI. As a strategic leader within the Pharmaron Mfg Commercial and Operational teams, you will partner with the Business Development team to translate business opportunities into Pharmaron projects and manage the project lifecycle within the site and as part of a global organization across China, UK and US.
This role will also act as the liaison between the client and internal teams during the new project introduction and throughout the commercial life cycle of products. The role requires an entrepreneurial mindset, together with strong financial and marketing management skills, organizational abilities and interpersonal qualities
The ideal candidate will have a proven business or commercial background within the Pharmaceutical industry, in traditional Pharma or a CRO/CDMO environment. They will be experienced with finance strategies and be able to demonstrate commercial acumen.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Partners with business development to establish client relationships in late phase development to increase project win rate. Acts as primary site interface for clients.
- Constructs project solutions by strategically utilizing global Pharmaron network (China, UK and US).
- Leads project management teams to oversee project planning and monitor project progression, to ensure site delivers the projects in line with agreed upon metrics and client expectations.
- Reports project progress to all key stakeholders and reviews commercial/site performance with insights and recommendations for improvement
- Drives cultural and operational transformation at Coventry through business optimization.
Experience and Education:
- Master's (MS) or PhD in technical discipline; Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related technical field
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant pharmaceutical or biotech industry experience in CMC process development and/or GMP manufacturing
- Prior experience in senior leadership roles within business, commercial or operational fields.
