NAFI Rhode Island is seeking a dynamic, experienced, and licensed Agency Clinical Director to be an integral part of NAFI RI’s Leadership Team !
The Director will oversee and manage all clinical aspects of our non-profit agency and will ensure delivery of high-quality care, supervise clinical staff, maintain compliance with regulations, and guide program development. Successful candidates will offer strategic leadership with a strong clinical background and a passion for improving mental health outcomes in our community.
Responsibilities Include:
As a member of the RI Leadership Team, provide clinical oversight and leadership to all therapeutic programs and staff
Collaborate with executive leadership to align clinical services with the agency’s mission, strategic goals, and financial sustainability
Supervise, mentor, and evaluate clinical staff (therapists/counselors)
Assist in implementing clinical policies, procedures, and protocols in alignment with regulatory and ethical standards
Ensure compliance with all licensing, accreditation, and funding requirements (e.g., HIPAA, Medicaid, state-specific guidelines)
Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness and quality of care
Participate in risk management activities, including reviewing incidents and implementing corrective actions
Assist in program development, expansion, and improvement based on client and community needs
Participate in the hiring, training, and ongoing professional development of clinical team members
Facilitate case reviews, clinical consultations, and crisis management when needed
Collaborate with community partners, referral sources, and stakeholders
Provide direct clinical services as needed

Desired Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related field
Current, active clinical license in RI (LMHC, LICSW, LMFT)
Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role
Experience across multiple service types (e.g., residential, community-based, outpatient, juvenile justice, child welfare)
Proven success in high-level leadership roles with strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
Knowledge of trauma-informed care, evidence-based practices, and culturally responsive treatment
Strong understanding of behavioral health regulations and documentation standards
Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and data-driven decision-making
Salary: $95,000 – $110,000 per year (depending on experience)
