Platinum Ridge Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation - Admissions Director - Dept. Head

A nursing home admissions director is responsible for overseeing the admissions process, working directly with residents and families of elderly hospital patients who may need to move into the facility. They provide facility tours for potential referrals and assist new residents and family members with adjustment to nursing home placement. The director coordinates with facility liaison (marketer), hospitals, patients and their families to ensure that the patient meets all of the facility’s admission requirements. This involves a combination of clinical education, insurance verification, certification, and effective communication with medical staff, nursing service, and other department supervisors. The director works beyond normal working hours, and on weekends.

Excellent communication skills are essential for admission nurses, helping them establish trust with patients and families during assessments. They are responsible for assessing incoming patients to evaluate their medical needs, providing education about the facility, and addressing questions or concerns.

Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; additional coursework in hospitality or healthcare administration is a plus.

Previous experience in admissions, customer service, or hospitality preferred.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a professional, compassionate demeanor.

Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Familiarity with long-term care settings is a plus.

Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends or evenings, as needed.
