Administrative Director, Infrastructure Systems - FT

Under the general direction and supervision of the Chief Information Officer, this individual will lead and have responsibility for the networking/infrastructure teams and be a key member of the College’s IT Leadership team. The full-time regular position will be responsible for effective engineering, provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of system hardware, software, network, and related infrastructure technologies, at all campus locations and satellite facilities. This individual will work closely with college entities on project planning, prioritization, implementation, and ongoing support of IT initiatives. This individual will participate in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the enterprise.
Essential Functions
Responsible for coordinating server systems and network technologies, including project planning, scheduling, and engineering, while ensuring efficient usage of the College’s personnel, technology, and financial resources.
Responsible for all IT infrastructure including data center systems and environmental conditions, virtualized servers and desktop environments, core networking infrastructure such as firewalls, switches and routers, telephone systems, fiber connectivity across the enterprise as well as external connectivity and storage area network ( SAN ) management to ensure high availability of all services, at all times.
Participate in the planning, installation, and maintenance of ancillary technical systems, including door access control, security cameras, audio-visual, and building automation systems. Coordinate with other departments within the college to supply technical resources for these systems as needed.
Supervises and evaluates all full-time/part-time staff in the network/infrastructure team in day-to-day operations. Develops plans for professional development of the staff to ensure they stay knowledgeable in their respective fields and conducts recruitment, selection, and hiring of employees under their supervision.
Responsible for all backups and disaster recovery planning to ensure the survivability and recoverability of all college systems in the event of accidental or intentional disaster.
Responsible for all Microsoft infrastructure applications such as Active Directory, Azure/Entra, and Office 365, employee and student accounts, passwords, desktop and laptop management via group policy, patch and OS management, security certificates, and global IP and  DNS  systems.
Responsible for overall Network Security. Collaborate with the Information Security Analyst and  CIO  in developing security processes and procedures.
Responsible for network and infrastructure device monitoring and alerting systems.
Maintains an inventory of and ensures compliance with software licensing for respective areas.
Manage the Equipment and Software Maintenance/Support Renewal process.
Management of annual operating budgets, purchasing processes, and active participation in setting budgetary priorities for upcoming years.
Participates in IT Strategic Planning.
Provide support for Canvas  LMS , educational technologies, and instructional design staff as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
Associate’s Degree in Information Technology, Programming, Computer Information Technology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Business, Statistics, Institutional Research, or a related field of study.
Three (3) years* of progressive work experience within a large-scale information technology organization.
*A Bachelor’s degree in Programming, Computer Information Technology, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field of study may substitute for up to one (1) year of required work experience
Salary
$74,416 per year
Benefits
SCC BEN Dollars – Eligible Employees: Full-time status. Regular employees with an FTE of 0.75 or greater will be eligible for SCC Ben Dollars. All employees will be required to elect a health insurance option. If the cost of insurance coverage selected by an employee exceeds the SCC Ben Dollars available, all additional costs will be withheld from the employee’s paycheck. Any SCC Ben Dollars that the employee does not elect to use for the purchase of dependent health and dental insurance will be paid to the employee in cash at $0.93 per $1.00 benefit dollar. All amounts paid are subject to withholding for income and employment taxes, but not subject to the College’s contribution toward the Retirement Savings Plan – Group Retirement Account (GRA).
Schedule
Normal working hours for this position are scheduled between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, requiring a minimum of a 40-hour work week. Special projects and assignments, and troubleshooting may require evening and weekend work as needed. This is a full-time regular position based on a 260-day work calendar.
Salary/Compensation: $74,416 per year
