ACE Program Director

Brooklyn College is seeking applications for the Director for the ACE (Accelerate Complete Engage) Program. The Director leads an integrated college team and has the responsibility of the program's expansion activities, including program operations, recruitment, and communication.

Both ASAP and ACE help students earn their college degree as quickly as possible, by removing the financial, academic, and personal obstacles that many students confront. Key ASAP|ACE program features include a consolidated block schedule, required full-time study and comprehensive advisement and career development services. Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Executive Director of Student Success, provide day-to-day oversight and successful delivery of a comprehensive program of academic, advisement, career and financial supports for program students.
  • Represent the college’s ACE programs on all relevant committees, within and outside the college, developing and maintaining relationships that create buy-in and enable the program to operate successfully as part of the college.
  • Implement CUNY ACE policy, and develop local program policies and processes to meet the Program’s mission; develop local strategy to meet enrollment/recruitment targets each semester.
  • Oversee all program staff and develop processes to regularly collect, share and analyze engagement and outcomes data, to ensure progress toward student engagement and program academic performance benchmarks.
  • Oversee the program budget and daily administration, including scheduling and timely delivery of services.
  • Create a supportive, inclusive environment, encouraging and promoting opportunities for staff professional development and growth.
  • Collaborate with other program designees to deliver and coordinate program components.
  • Actively participate in campus-wide committees and working groups to stay informed about institutional initiatives, foster cross-departmental collaboration, and ensure program alignment with broader college goals.
  • Collaborate with the Associate Directors of Student Success to align ACE program goals with broader student success initiatives and institutional priorities.
  • Facilitate cross-functional communication and coordination between ACE staff and other Student Success programs, including academic advising, tutoring, and student support services.
  • Lead or co-lead Student Success initiatives that enhance the student experience, particularly for transfer students and those facing academic or financial challenges.
  • Regularly attend required meetings with CUNY Central ASAP|ACE staff, prepare reports for the University ASAP|ACE Executive Director, CUNY Office of Academic Affairs (CUNY Central), and share outcomes with college leadership each semester.
  • Performs related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in an appropriate discipline and eight years related experience.

The preferred candidate will have:

  • Demonstrated management and supervisory skills as well as budget oversight and planning experience.
  • Strong understanding of the needs and challenges facing students from historically marginalized groups.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team, within the department and with faculty and other administrators.
  • Excellent organization, project management, communication, and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate and detailed records of student activities.
  • Computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office Suite; CUNYfirst and Tableau data visualization software a plus.
  • Proven leadership experience in supervising professional staff and managing cross-functional teams.
  • Strong understanding of academic advising models and retention strategies, particularly for transfer and underrepresented student populations.
  • Experience using data to inform program development, assess outcomes, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Familiarity with EAB Navigate and CUNY systems, policies, and student support structures is a plus.

The Director oversees all activities related to ASAP and represents the College's ASAP program within and outside the College.

  • Develops and implements policy to meet the Program's mission, collaborating with other College units
  • Administers a comprehensive portfolio of services, and assesses the various components of the ASAP program to improve services to students
  • Provides a highly-supportive environment by overseeing staff such as advisors and job developers and by developing relevant programs, workshops, and activities
  • Manages tracking, reporting, and analysis of outcomes data, and systems to track and manage individual students' progress
  • Manages staff and budget consistent with program goals
  • Performs related duties as assigned

Compensation and Benefits

$118,070 - $131,440; Salary commensurate with education and experience.
