As an Accounting Director, you lead our corporate accounting operations and team as well as support the overall financial leadership of the company. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the Accounting Director will oversee general accounting functions, supervise multiple accounting departments, and provide key insights to drive financial performance and reporting, and strategic decision-making for the parent company and all subsidiaries.

About the role:
As an Accounting Director, you lead our corporate accounting operations and team as well as support the overall financial leadership of the company. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the Accounting Director will oversee general accounting functions, supervise multiple accounting departments, and provide key insights to drive financial performance and reporting, and strategic decision-making for the parent company and all subsidiaries.
You will also be responsible for presenting financial insights and recommendations to executives and key
stakeholders, contributing to the company’s long-term financial health and strategic growth initiatives. This role requires close collaboration with the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, as well as regular coordination with the Treasurer to ensure alignment between accounting operations, cash management, investment activities, and financial risk management.
Strong leadership, analytical skills, and a deep understanding of financial principles, including GAAP, are essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities:
Lead and manage all general accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting.
Serve as a key advisor to the CFO, providing financial insights that support strategic planning and operational effectiveness.
Direct, develop, and mentor departmental leaders and staff within the accounting function to ensure high levels of performance and engagement.
Oversee timely and accurate consolidated month-end and year-end close processes and the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
Maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and operational integrity.
Coordinate external audits and manage relationships with auditors, tax advisors, and other financial partners.
Identify opportunities for process and systems improvements, leading initiatives to enhance the efficiency and scalability of financial operations.
Partner cross-functionally with business units to align financial practices with organizational goals.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; advanced degree preferred.
Strong analytical skills and ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
Proven leadership and team management experience, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting techniques, and Microsoft Excel. Experience with Oracle products is a plus.
Active CPA license required.
Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting requirements.
Demonstrated ability to lead accounting teams and deliver high-quality financial results.
Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting software.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in financial analysis and reporting.
