The Assistant Director of Admissions aids in the recruitment of undergraduate students. This position is responsible for all aspects of recruitment including implementing and executing recruitment plans, recruitment travel (potentially international), initiating yield activities, and building relationships with counselors for a group of students. The Assistant Director manages multiple territories and makes timely admissions decisions on a cohort of applications.
The ideal candidate demonstrates excellent customer service, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills and a commitment to working in a team environment.
Responsibilities include:
Develop, implement, and monitor all aspects of admission for a cohort of students
Utilize the Office of Admissions' CRM system for territory management
Build communication plans to follow up with both prospective students and applicants in an assigned cohort
Manage a recruitment territory and represent the university at off campus recruitment events
Manage a cohort of applicants, ensuring completion of materials and rendering of final decisions in a timely manner
Build relationships with traditionally unrepresented students
Build relationships with community college counselors to assist in out-reach to students and their families
Facilitate group information sessions and conduct individual appointments for prospective students
Implement on-campus recruitment and yield activities for students
Respond to email correspondence and phone calls pertaining to a cohort of applications
Create and implement special projects including the University Ambassador Program, Athletic Admissions, Honors College Recruitment, Community College Relations, Veteran Admissions, The Arts Admission, School Counselors, and Volunteer Admissions
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree
Valid driver's license
Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel
Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated customer service experience
Professional work experience in higher education and / or admissions
Experience with application review and making admissions decisions
Experience using document management tools and CRM systems for prospect and applicant management

Salary and benefits are dictated by the State College and University Professional Association (SCUPA) Collective Bargaining Agreement.
