Role Overview: The Director, Social & Content Strategy is responsible for leading the development, execution, and optimization of the brand’s organic social and content ecosystem. This leader will drive awareness, engagement, and community growth across global and U.S. markets, with a strong focus on digital-first storytelling.
Director, Social & Content Strategy Responsibilities:
Lead the creation and execution of the global social content calendar, aligned with product priorities, brand campaigns, influencer activations, and events.
Build integrated content strategies across owned, earned, and paid channels, ensuring a digital-first lens.
Develop short- and long-term plans that balance evergreen storytelling with agile, trend-driven content.
Partner with Creative to establish an in-house social studio for agile, high-volume content production.
Drive creative briefings, ensuring strong brand alignment and competitive differentiation.
Oversee the creation and approval of social-first content, including UGC, influencer collaborations, and campaign assets.
Identify opportunities where the brands authentically intersect with culture.
Direct community management strategy, ensuring timely responses, escalations, and proactive consumer engagement.
Foster deeper relationships with consumers and advocates across priority platforms.
Oversee approval and use of UGC across social and e-commerce touchpoints.
Leverage analytics to measure and optimize performance against KPIs.
Provide regular reporting with actionable insights for continuous improvement.
Stay ahead of emerging platform trends, competitive activity, and shifts in consumer behavior.
Partner with Paid Media, Influencer, Creative, PR, and E-commerce to ensure seamless campaign execution.
Share monthly social calendars across global and regional teams to align strategy and activation.
Support ad-hoc content needs for PR activations, retailer partnerships, and trend-driven opportunities.
Manage and mentor 2 direct reports, fostering a culture of creativity, agility, and collaboration.
Build processes that enable efficiency while scaling content output across multiple platforms.
Director, Social & Content Strategy Qualifications:
8+ years in social media and content strategy, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
Proven track record of leading high-performing content and social teams.
Strong understanding of platform nuances, social trends, and community management best practices.
Experience integrating social content into holistic brand and marketing campaigns.
Data-driven with the ability to translate analytics into actionable strategies.
Exceptional communication and collaboration skills across creative, technical, and business teams.
Experience in beauty, fashion, or lifestyle industries strongly preferred.
Comfortable in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environments; hands-on and solutions-oriented.
