AmeriWound, LLC - AmeriWound is currently adding a Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant Wound Care Education & Training Director (WCD) . Under the supervision of the Chief Medical Officer the WCD provides leadership and support to our Clinical Department, Wound Care Providers and Client-Long Term Care (LTC) Facilities. The WCD enhances the quality of our EHR documentation, identifies opportunities for improvement, and works to improve the wound care knowledge base of our Clinical Team, Providers and Client facilities. The WCD possess significant expertise and proficiency to train providers in the most current, efficacious, and appropriate wound care treatments and procedures. Due to the handling of confidential information, the WCD will be required to work within the AmeriWound corporate office to ensure that Protected Health Information (PHI) is kept protected, and not accessible to public view. The Wound Care Education & Training Director is a full-time salaried position. Onboarding & training is onsite at the office for the first 90-days, then hybrid with two remote days per week.
Responsibilities:
Leads the Wound Care Education & Training Department
Travels to different states as necessary to AmeriWound affiliated LTC facilities - primarily SNFs (approx 25% travel).
Diagnose and treat wound care patients at SNFS for additional compensation commensurate with our payments to our other APP wound care providers.
Identifies and stages various types of wounds including but not limited to: pressure injuries, vascular wounds, venous stasis wounds, diabetic wounds, and others
Trains providers and wound education team to assess, stage, treat, and dress a wide range of wounds
Recognizes, performs and refers to certain therapies as needed wounds leading to wound healing
Trains providers to perform debridements and other procedures as needed
Trains providers to utilize up to date wound care equipment including but not limited to negative pressure therapy devices and biologics
Trains providers to assess and verify the condition of patients' skin to prevent pressure injuries and other wounds
Conducts training sessions, both group and individual to educate and update providers on the most current and appropriate wound treatments
Shadows and orients providers at LTCs
Develops and updates training materials, reports, auditing tools, clinical policies, procedures and processes
Conducts and leads training, coaching and mentoring of Wound Education Clinical Department
Guides, leads and conducts Performance Reviews/Evaluations of Clinical Team members
Works in conjunction with the Human Resources Department to conduct Interviews, Hiring, and any needed coaching or counseling Clinical Department
Audits clinical documentation and initiate appropriate contacts with clients and medical providers.
Assists with audits of Quality Management (QM) and MIPS processes and files.
Contacts medical providers as necessary to obtain medical records or billing information.
Assists with ongoing training of AmeriWound Providers: Clinical and/or documentation issues
Notifies clients of any changes or problems of a status change(s)
Maintains organized documentation of all clinical information and interactions with all parties involved with each claim
Follows appropriate report formats and documentation guidelines
Adheres to quality standards, federal billing guidelines, and confidentiality of all information, policies, and procedures
Conducts provider patient re-evaluation audits as needed
Serves as a clinical resource to co-workers, providers, and clients
Reports potential problems to the Medical Director and Senior Leadership as they become evident
Assists with issues of non-compliance
Other duties as assigned by the Medical Director or Senior Leadership
Requirements:
