As the Warming Station Program Director, you will play a critical leadership role in supporting our seasonal warming stations, providing a safe and welcoming environment for unhoused individuals during the cold-weather months. Your efforts will help ensure high-quality, compassionate care and efficient operations across all warming station locations.
In this role, you will:Provide Oversight and Leadership to all Warming Station Supervisors regarding the seasonal opening, operation, and closing of stations each year (October through April).
Ensure Compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and guidelines as established by the New York State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance (OTDA) and Catholic Charities’ internal standards.
Offer Direct Support and consultation to supervisors and staff on emerging issues—including being available by phone during overnight hours and, when necessary, responding on-site.
Monitor Contractual Performance to ensure all service delivery targets and contractual obligations are met in a timely and effective manner.
Participate Actively in community and statewide boards, coalitions, and committees related to homelessness services and warming station efforts.
Attend and Represent Catholic Charities at relevant professional meetings, trainings, and events.
Support Staff Hiring and Training by assisting in interviews, onboarding, and ongoing education of Warming Station personnel.
Promote Best Practices in care and safety through the implementation of harm reduction strategies and trauma-informed approaches.
Director of Peer Services Minimum Salary: $40.00 / Hour; $30.00 / Hour out of season
Director of Peer Services Maximum Salary: $40.00 / Hour in season; $30.00 / Hour out of season
Director of Peer Services Schedule: Varied Hours - 19.5 hours per week; THIS POSITION HAS ON CALL SHIFTS
Qualifications:
- 2 Year associate degree in Human Services or related field
- 3 - 5 years of relevant experience or working with a diverse population and supervisory experience
- This position requires a valid driver's license, proof of current car insurance, registration and access to a reliable, working vehicle
