About the Role As a Group Creative Director, you'll be responsible for managing, guiding, and creating the communication layer of a brand's vision. This is a leadership role within the agency, with accountability for the health of both the brands you manage and the agency at large. In this role, you must inspire the creativity and strategic thinking of both your team and those around you. You should strive to bring experimentation where it's fitting and act as a teacher of curiosity.
This role also requires you to be highly involved with clients, pitching work and presenting the capabilities of the department. You should be proficient in understanding how to align client needs with the agency's model. Under your purview is the entire creative team, but you will have a smaller subset of direct reports. While you might partner with another GCD, Head of Design, or Head of Strategy at the agency, you're mainly responsible for the creative direction.
Responsibilities Creative Steward - Be the creative steward for the brands in your portfolio, working with the internal brand and strategy team to set the tone and vision for the brand. Monitor and spot-check all creative work that will ultimately reach the client.
Storytell - Help storytell ideas for clients, internal teams, and your own creative teams. Ensure clarity and coherence, especially in final presentations, acting as the last line of defense before delivery to the client.
Presenting to clients - Develop relationships with clients through presentations and support, building trust and understanding their needs.
Develop client relationships - Foster trust-based relationships, aiming for a comfortable and effective communication style.
Lead hiring decisions - Oversee hiring, mentoring, and growth of the creative team, considering the department's needs and potential.
Foster creativity - Inspire team participation in internal creative endeavors and contribute to team structure and growth opportunities.
Influence and lead - Influence creative thinking across the business, lead concept development, and partner with other departments to improve team capabilities.
Ensure project delivery - Make sure creative projects are delivered on time and within budget, maintaining quality control.
About You The essentials
Minimum of 4 years in a Creative Director or equivalent role, with hands-on concept development and client interaction experience.
Proven leadership of creative teams of 6 or more with empathy and strategic vision.
Strong track record of building high-performing teams and pushing ideas to potential.
Developed creative point of view and ability to identify strong ideas and executions.
Patience, attention to detail, and strong knowledge of design fundamentals.
Ability to steer campaign writing and storytelling.
Not a must, but a plus
Experience collaborating with strategic, brand, creative, and production partners.
Deep awareness of creative culture, trends, and platforms.

Monks provides a compensation range of $200,000-$240,000 USD, which is an estimate at the time of posting. Final salary depends on job-related factors, not protected status.
