About the Role
The Company is in search of a strategic and dynamic Vice President/Executive Director for Biotech Business Development - Commercial. This executive-level role is pivotal in leading the west coast biotech partnership organization, with a focus on building and managing enterprise-level relationships with both emerging and established biotech companies. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting the strategic direction of a west coast-based team of business development professionals, ensuring the successful execution of partnership initiatives, and developing a comprehensive commercial strategy to drive revenue growth and long-term market leadership.
Applicants must have a minimum of 20 years' of progressive experience in biotech or pharmaceutical commercial leadership, with a proven track record in global partnerships. Key responsibilities include serving as a key advisor to C-suite executives, providing executive oversight for major biotech relationships, and representing the organization as a thought leader in the biotech space. The role also involves overseeing resource planning, budgeting, and performance optimization, as well as aligning cross-functional teams to maximize the impact of strategic partnerships. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of biotech commercialization models, therapeutic development strategies, and experience in high-stakes negotiations. An MBA or relevant advanced degree is preferred, along with a background in biotech M&A and complex partnership structures.
