Purpose
The ASUCD Pride Festival is a unit that is comprised of a diverse board including, but not limited to, UC Davis LGBTQIA+ students and community members, passionate about uplifting the LGBTQIA+ community that is responsible for an annual celebratory festival highlighting queer and transgender students through music, food, performance, small business, and more. All students are welcome to apply.
The unit director will manage and oversee the ASUCD Pride Festival.

As a part of ASUCD, you agree to subscribe to the ASUCD Newsletter. Expectations as the Pride Festival Unit Director: Manage day-to-day operations and adherence to UC Davis campus policies and procedures as it pertains to hiring, onboarding, review/approving timesheets, purchasing, income, expenses, reimbursements, compliance, ASUCD branding and balancing budget.
Create and present reports to the ASUCD Senate, meet with adopted Senators on an ongoing basis and act as the primary liaison between the student government, as per ASUCD Bylaws.
Work with the ASUCD Business Manager and ASUCD Controller to ensure operational practices comply to ASUCD/UC Davis policies and procedures.
Collaborate with Creative Media to market the Unit and increase visibility.
Attend Unit director training as required by ASUCD leadership.
Maintain Unit policies and procedures.
Uphold, safeguard, and promote ASUCD’s values and philosophy relating to ethics, integrity, and social responsibility.
Create and present a written report once a quarter to the ASUCD Senate.
Review and evaluate Unit budget.
Develop and track metrics within the Unit to drive decisions and present quarterly reports.
Oversees regularly scheduled meetings.
Make announcements during festival in between sets.
Communicate with relevant UC Davis administrators to ensure all logistics of the event are complete. Skills
Knowledge and ability to perform general account principles to balance budgets.
Ability to take initiative and meet with appropriate bodies as it pertains to ASUCD/UC Davis policies and procedures
Knowledge and understanding of UC Davis Policies and Procedures for hiring and onboarding staff
Skills to perform administrative duties and work independently
Interpersonal communication skills and exceptional customer service skills
Strong time and project management skills
Ability to motivate and inspire staff
Proficient at Gmail and Microsoft Word
Experience managing employees and/or volunteers preferred
Ability to communicate with administration
Ability to facilitate unit meetings
Ability to lead a team and ensure unit is meeting deadlines in a timely manner
