Position Overview The role involves working within the Med Surg department, with a schedule from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM at UAB St. Vincent's Blount. What You Will Do Your responsibilities will include performing administrative and clerical duties in support of an assigned clinical area. This includes greeting patients and visitors, answering/screening/routing telephone calls, filing, distributing mail, and performing other general clerical duties. You will also communicate with patients, families, physicians, and other healthcare team members about patient care according to protocol, schedule patients for individual appointments in a timely manner, assist with programs/software for Physicians/Clinicians through the order entry processes, transfers, and discharges, assemble and maintain patient charts, coordinate meetings, schedule meetings/rooms with the appropriate person, send notices as requested, maintain meeting minutes, and enter and maintain timekeeping changes and staff schedules in computer systems. What You Will Need Licensure / Certification / Registration: BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. Education: High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
