General Description
The Director of Graduate Nursing Programs / Chief Nurse Administrator (CNA) at Saint Peter's University holds the highest level of administrative and academic responsibility for all nursing programs within the institution. The Director provides strategic, visionary, academic and administrative leadership for the university's nursing programs, including the Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), the Nurse Educator, the developing Nurse Practitioner tracks, and the Post-Master's Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner program. As the designated Chief Nurse Administrator (CNA), the Director ensures compliance with the New Jersey Board of Nursing regulations, CCNE accreditation standards, and national certification body requirements.
The Director of Graduate Nursing Programs holds faculty rank. This individual must possess a doctoral degree, PhD. or Ed.D., with a major in Nursing in BSN and MSN degrees from a Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or Accreditation Commission on Education in Nursing (ACEN) accredited program. In alignment with the University's mission to advance clinically focused, practice-ready nursing education, the CNA must be a licensed and experienced advanced practice nurse (e.g., Nurse Practitioner), with a strong foundation in clinical care, program leadership, and accreditation processes. He/she holds a Master's degree in nursing with FNP certification, with unencumbered RN and APRN licensure in New Jersey, or eligibility for licensureas a registered nurse in the State of New Jersey. The role includes oversight of program operations, curriculum development, accreditation, faculty coordination, clinical supervision, and student mentoring.
