he Role This isn’t a sit-behind-the-desk IT job. You’ll be out in the field when needed — steel toes, hard hat, and all — making sure systems run where they matter most: active construction sites. What You’ll Own Modernizing Systems: Audit current infrastructure, networks, and software. Close gaps and implement scalable solutions.
Field Connectivity: Keep communication seamless between HQ, jobsite trailers, and field crews (including iPad-based plans and documentation).
Infrastructure & Security: Oversee servers, networks, cloud environments, and cybersecurity; quickly address vulnerabilities.
IT Roadmap: Build a plan to support aggressive growth over the next 3–5 years.
Team Leadership: Grow and mentor a small IT team (currently 2 staff).
Hands-On Problem Solving: Step in personally when systems go down, networks fail, or new sites need setup.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with project managers, superintendents, and leadership to align tech with operations.
Vendors & Budgets: Manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and optimize spend.
What You’ll Work On Setting up and maintaining tech in 67+ active jobsite offices across NC, SC, and VA.
Supporting field communication for real-time plan changes, material adjustments, and project pivots.
Integrating field and office systems for tighter project coordination.
Ensuring reliability of conference rooms, jobsite networks, and mobile devices.
Advising leadership on new technologies that drive efficiency in a construction environment.
What We’re Looking For 7–10+ years in IT leadership with hands-on technical expertise (construction or similar industries preferred).
Experience managing infrastructure across multiple fixed and mobile sites.
Strong background in networking, cybersecurity, endpoint management, and field communications.
Ability to translate between business needs and technical requirements.
Comfortable blending strategy with on-the-ground problem solving.
Strong communicator and collaborator with non-technical teams.
Bachelor’s degree in IT/Computer Science (or equivalent experience).
Why This Role Stands Out You’re not just maintaining systems — you’re shaping the future of IT for a growing company.
You’ll have a direct say in tools, systems, and strategy.
The role blends high-level planning with hands-on fieldwork.
Projects are large-scale, complex, and high visibility.
