Tax Manager/Director Opportunity – CPA Firm This is a hands-on leadership role for an experienced Tax professional ready to take ownership of the tax practice at a growing CPA firm. You will be responsible for managing, mentoring, and developing our tax team while overseeing all aspects of tax compliance, planning, and advisory services for a diverse clientele. We are looking for a proven professional who can navigate complex tax matters, drive departmental efficiency, and serve as a trusted, high-level advisor to our business and individual clients. Key Responsibilities Lead the Tax Practice: Oversee and review the preparation of a diverse, complex portfolio of returns, including corporate, individual, and fiduciary engagements. Strategic Advisory: Act as a key client advisor, cultivating strong relationships and delivering in-depth tax planning and strategy to minimize tax liabilities and achieve client financial objectives. Compliance & Risk Management: Manage the full tax compliance lifecycle, ensuring the accurate and timely filing of all returns, extensions, and estimates. Develop and implement internal controls and comprehensive documentation to mitigate tax risks and ensure regulatory compliance . Team Leadership & Development: Lead, supervise, and mentor junior tax staff , fostering professional growth and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, efficient client service. Research & Technical Expertise: Conduct in-depth tax research on complex technical issues, provide expert guidance on tax audit and assurance matters, and maintain current knowledge of evolving federal and state tax regulations. Operational Excellence: Analyze financial data and leverage technology to optimize tax processes and reporting workflows, driving efficiency across the department.
