Role TAX DIRECTOR Based onsite at Rocket Lab’s Headquarters in Long Beach, CA the Tax Director is responsible for managing our growing geographic footprint and leading the global tax function. You will support the Corporate Controller, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and the Finance organization, with a focus on optimizing our global tax structure, managing complex M&A transactions, and ensuring compliance with international tax regulations. Responsibilities Oversee and manage the company\'s global tax function, ensuring compliance with international tax laws and regulations. Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize the company\'s global tax position. Identify and leverage government incentive programs to benefit the company. Manage tax aspects of complex M&A transactions, including due diligence, structuring, and integration. Develop and maintain intercompany transfer pricing policies and strategies. Oversee the review of quarterly and annual income tax provision calculations in addition to preparation of tax returns. Planning for tax efficient repatriation of foreign cash, and other tax planning opportunities. Review documentation prepared for special projects or tax planning opportunities Perform tax research and assist with tax planning, including memo preparation and presentation of proposals to senior management. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. 15 years of experience in a senior tax role, with significant experience in a global corporate capacity. Proven track record of managing complex M&A transactions and integrating companies into a global tax structure. In-depth knowledge of international tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements. Strong experience with intercompany transfer pricing policies and strategies. Nice to have Experience working with manufacturing companies. CPA or equivalent certification. Experience with government incentive programs. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in tax software and financial systems. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Occasional exposure to dust, fumes, and moderate levels of noise. Compensation and benefits Base salary is a component of total rewards; base pay range CA: $160,000 – $225,000 USD. Base salary is determined on a case-by-case basis based on job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience.
