Role Summary
We are seeking a Tax Director to join the tax leadership team. This role is instrumental in guiding high-net-worth clients and their advisors through complex tax and compliance matters. The Senior Tax Manager will oversee tax planning, reporting, and audit readiness while ensuring adherence to industry best practices and regulatory standards.
The successful candidate will lead the review and preparation of complex tax returns, supervise tax staff, and partner closely with executives and clients to deliver strategic tax solutions. This position provides an opportunity to impact both the organization and its high-profile clientele through expert tax leadership and trusted financial guidance.
Key Responsibilities
Review, oversee, and prepare complex federal and state income tax returns for corporations, partnerships, and individuals.
Provide quality control review of financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Manage planning, facilitation, and compliance for international tax matters, including waivers and filings.
Oversee estimated tax payments, shareholder bonus processes, and payroll tax filings (quarterly and annual).
Review tax preparation work papers, reconciliations, W-2s, 1099s, and other related reporting.
Lead tax correspondence, facilitate audits, and ensure timely filing of required reports and franchise tax returns.
Guide entity creation/dissolution procedures, including incorporation documents, FEIN applications, and S-election filings.
Train, mentor, and supervise tax staff, fostering professional development and adherence to best practices.
Partner with senior leadership on ad hoc projects and strategic tax initiatives.
Key Requirements
10–15+ years of tax practice experience, including 5+ years in a supervisory or managerial role .
Active CPA license required (CA or TN preferred).
Master’s in Accounting or Taxation strongly preferred.
Experience within a business management firm, public accounting, or entertainment-focused financial services environment.
Broad technical expertise across corporate, partnership, and high-net-worth individual taxation.
Proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, and tax preparation software.
Strong communication, leadership, and team development skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
High level of integrity, discretion, and ability to work with high-profile clientele.
