Overview Sr. Director of SEC Reporting & Technical Accounting Location: Santa Ana, CA 92705 Base pay range: $190,000.00/yr - $230,000.00/yr Compensation: $190,000 - $230,000 + Bonus About the role: Our Publicly-Traded Services Client is seeking a Director of SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting to oversee SEC Reporting functions, Technical Accounting, and SOX-related activities. Active CPA license and experience with SEC Reporting in public accounting or industry are required. Responsibilities Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, supervision, and leadership of the accounting team. Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the company’s financial reporting and general ledger structure. Collaborate with the SEC Reporting team; review quarterly and annual reports (Forms 10-Q and 10-K). Support M&A transactions, including due diligence, valuation reviews, and purchase accounting memos. Assist in SOX compliance related to technical accounting policies and financial reporting. Guide and monitor the team to develop best practices and efficient procedures with high accuracy. Maintain accounting policies and educate the broader team on policy application. Manage timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes (journal entries as needed). Consolidate entities and prepare appropriate elimination entries for accurate month-end close. Improve ERP utilization, provide guidance on accounting standards, and address operational issues. Oversee monthly sales and use tax compliance. Support annual audits and budgeting processes. Ensure data integrity and accuracy in the general ledger; maintain policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with organizational systems, policies, and legal mandates; seek guidance as necessary. Operate with honesty, ethics, and professionalism; perform other duties as delegated by senior management.
