Overview Sr. Director of Business Development for KBR’s National Security Solutions team. The role focuses on leading the capture of new business opportunities and developing long-term strategic plans for growth. The candidate will identify new teammates, maintain relationships with existing clients, evaluate programs through financial feasibility studies and market research, and implement plans to achieve strategic business goals. A background with relationships in the USSF and DOD markets is preferred, with emphasis on customer intimacy and identifying unmet needs within the USSF, DOD, and related organizations. KBR’s National Security Solutions team delivers high-end engineering and advanced technology solutions to customers in the intelligence and national security communities. This work aims to support national security objectives. Responsibilities Develop long-term business development strategy to grow the business. Manage multiple capture efforts in various stages for award within 18 months. Develop and maintain strong customer relationships to identify objectives, priorities, and requirements, and align company capabilities. Maintain an accurate growth pipeline and leverage Salesforce for pipeline reporting. Develop and maintain strong industry relations with large and small businesses. Conduct competitive analysis and develop effective win strategies. Write compelling RFI responses and demonstrate solid business acumen in all capture pursuit decisions. Participate in identifying potential acquisition targets. Develop capture artifacts such as win themes, proof points, past performance candidate identification, proposal resource requirement identification, B&P budget, capture snapshot, and milestone reviews. Qualifications Minimum 20 years of experience, including 10+ years in industry and 10+ years in business development. Bachelor's degree or equivalent related experience. Proven ability to work with senior business and government leaders. Working knowledge of a mature, industry-leading capture organization targeting space and engineering support. Ability to drive profitable financial outcomes on each capture with understanding of corporate indirect rates and LOE/BOE development. Proven success in business development, capture management, program management, science and engineering programs, USSF programs, acquisition processes, opportunity identification, and qualification. Demonstrated leadership in services-centric organizations, including building industry teams and executing customer call plans to shape acquisitions. Effective communication skills. Active TOP SECRET security clearance. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in business, science, or science-related curriculum. Active TS clearance required; SCI preferred. Work Environment Location: Candidates living near Colorado Springs, CO, or Los Angeles, CA, preferred; other locations will be considered. Travel: Moderate 20-50% Working Hours: Standard Compensation Basic compensation ranges: $238,000 – 357,000 (Colorado area); $260,000 – 391,000 (California area). The offered rate will be based on knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, and internal parity. Additional Compensation and Benefits Bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation may be offered per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may include sign-on bonuses, relocation benefits, short- and long-term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
