The Husqvarna Sr Director, Dealer US will profitably manage the sales activities for the portfolio or products across the almost 3,000+ existing dealers in the US market. The Sr. Director Dealer US is responsible for the acquisition and retention of new strategic dealers with a focus on urban market growth in the top 150 markets within the Us region. The individual will serve as a business leader for new dealer growth by leveraging sales acumen, portfolio management, marketing and business processes. The position leads the overall dealer development for US dealers including direction on strategy and operational approaches, programs and marketing initiatives. The Sr. Director will direct the planning, forecasting and key performance metrics necessary to drive optimum performance from the sales team and broader cross functional Husqvarna teams with the respective customers. Facilitate meetings for functional leaders and decision makers to deliver objectives relating to sales goals, account performance, and business growth, supply chain, and marketing. Demonstrates ability to identify trends and issues proactively and develop recommendations and solutions to address. Ability to communicate with senior leaders and providing executive reviews on a monthly basis. What You Need to Know: • Work closely with the Regional Sales Managers for the US to develop and execute the strategic business and sales plan that directly support the overall vision and company objectives related to new dealer development. • Implement and manage Dealer Excellence Program in the US and collaborate with Canada counterpart for synergies. • Direct implementation and execution of new dealer sales policies and practices. • Leads a team of Regional Sales Managers and their Territory Managers and holds them for meeting KPIs through effective coaching, mentoring, talent acquisition and performance management.as related to sales goals, dealer performance, and business growth. • Focus on new dealer growth, win back dealers that were lost as well as grow dealers to their full potential • Holding teams accountable to their top and bottom line management through clear tracking of dealer visits per day/week/month • Closely collaborate with the Director Inside Sales for the development and optimize dealer coverage and development of rural, smaller, and less profitable dealers for continued growth. • Recommend sales strategies for improvement based on market research and competitor analyses. • Facilitate alignment between the market development team and the balance of the organization. • Assess competitive activities and strategies. Implementation of tactical as well as strategic initiatives to maintain and grow Husqvarna’s brand position in the marketplace • Develop training curriculum that meet the needs of sales personnel. • Partner with the Business Units and the respective Product Managers across Residential, Professional, and Robotics, to develop or refine product assortment, sales goals, and marketing and promotional campaigns that respond or exceed the competition. • Lead the development and maintenance of compensation measures that address the need to motivate, reward, and reinforce success for outside sales force. • Direct the planning, forecasting and performance measurements necessary for peak performance related to new dealer development. • Develop and execute the strategic business and sales plan that directly support the overall vision and company objectives. • Partner with the executive leadership team to establish effective sales pricing and discount rates. • Develop and manage internal operating budgets. • Experience in “turn-around management” What We Are Looking For: • Bachelor’s Degree, Advanced degree a plus • 10+ years of experience in a senior-level sales position, including leadership assignments involving long and short term strategy; and recruiting, managing, motivating and coaching a sales team with emphasis on meeting sales goals and increasing market share; business leadership in Outdoor Power Equipment industry a plus • Experience managing dealer relationships • Sales forecasting experience • Understanding of margin analysis, supply chain fundamentals, finance and credit procedures • Significant experience in developing and executing plans that have driven significant incremental revenue and EBITDA growth in their business • Excellent leadership skills and proven manager of people with the ability to attract, develop and retain “A” level talent and build a strong team by promoting and rewarding individuals who have made significant contributions • Mature and politically astute with a high degree of intelligence, integrity and honesty, initiative and drive • Keen interest and curiosity in understanding what makes the business work and ability to take ownership of how the management team can improve operations and profitability • Ability to synthesize, analyze and present data, including solid skills in recognizing, evaluating and recommending areas for change • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to present ideas in a clear, concise and compelling fashion to their team, senior management, and board members • Consensus builder with strong critical thinking skills and the ability to communicate with non-financial executive peers and garner support for change • Proficiency at the intermediate to experienced level with email and MS Office software applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) • Willingness and ability to travel up to 60% and work extended hours as required.
