THE WORK:
The Senior Director of Data Services will lead our Data Sciences, Data Engineering, and Data Infrastructure teams to advance Ripple's application development, SaaS operations, business operations, and customer use-case analytics and optimization.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Be an ambitious builder, combining your data sciences, software engineering, machine learning, and AI expertise to build and lead high-performing teams that create world-class data infrastructure, platform data services, and application-specific data components and algorithms
Mentor and guide the professional and technical development of your team, including managers, data scientists, and engineers
Provide hands-on technical leadership as a role model for delivering outstanding results to our customers
Have a bias towards action and make decisions quickly after considering competing viewpoints
Own and deliver the roadmaps of multiple programs while driving technical and operational excellence across the engineering organization
Encourage and drive data and engineering best practices
Collaborate with stakeholders across Ripple
Establish team objectives and quarterly plans in alignment with business and organizational goals
Translate technical concepts into tailored content for different audiences, including engineers, business, and technical leaders
Scale the team by attracting and mentoring great leaders, data scientists, and engineers at various levels of experience
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
12+ years of hands-on data science and engineering development leadership experience, managing managers and teams of data scientists and engineers
Strong leadership and communication skills
Hands-on experience building highly scalable distributed systems in modern technology stacks
A propensity for hands-on schema design and data parsing/manipulation/analysis via languages such as SQL and Python, spending time writing and/or reviewing code
Experience with Agile development with a focus on robust software and database design, scalability, and security
Eagerness to work openly and collaboratively with a diverse team, with a positive attitude and a passion for sharing knowledge
A technical subject matter expert who provides technical leadership and shares expertise with a growing team of engineers
BS in Computer Science or similar
For positions that will be based in CA, the annual salary range for this position is below. Actual salaries may vary based on numerous factors including, among other things, an individual applicant’s experience and qualifications for the position. This range does not include equity or additional compensation, such as bonuses or commissions. CA Annual Base Salary Range
$280,000—$360,000 USD
