As the Sr Director, Americas Regional Controller, you will be responsible for providing leadership, strategic direction and innovation to Dentsply Sirona’s Accounting organization in North America, with approximately $1 billion in net sales, overseeing a regional team with responsibility for maintaining books and records that fully comply with US GAAP, local accounting standards and the Company’s accounting and reporting policies. You will also manage all aspects of financial reporting for the Americas region, ensuring reporting to support quarterly filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission, as well as managing the timely completion of all required statutory reporting, including supporting independent audits where required. Maintaining an environment of effective internal control over financial reporting and compliance with all applicable regulatory standards are also key to success.
This position is a key leadership role within the Accounting organization, leading a team of professionals based in the United States, Canada, Central America and South America, supporting a sustainable team environment while fostering opportunities for professional growth and development, providing oversight to ensure all areas of responsibility are executed with a high degree of quality. The successful candidate will foster productive business partnerships with key stakeholders to provide accounting support with the intended benefit of achieving the Company’s priorities and strategic initiative.
The Company is on a transformation journey, implementing SAP S/4HANA globally, modernizing the finance function and optimizing our global operations. This position will serve as a thought and transformation leader to drive evolution of processes in the interest of efficiency while maintaining effectiveness. This position will also serve as a key business partner supporting the Commercial and operational leadership teams in North America and LATAM, proactively providing accounting guidance to on recurring and non-recurring business transactions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Lead the Americas regional accounting team, fostering an environment of high performance with a focus on quality, while supporting execution of the strategic vision for the global accounting function
Manage the monthly and quarterly close cadence for North America entities to ensure books and records are prepared in accordance with US GAAP and Dentsply Sirona accounting and reporting policies while creating an environment that fosters continuous improvement and process refinement.
Ensure quarterly financial reporting is aligned to global reporting requirements to support preparation of consolidated financial statements for SEC reporting
Manage the timely preparation of statutory financial statements in accordance with local accounting requirements
Support execution of internal and external audits in accordance with agreed timelines
Oversee remediation of control deficiencies and audit observations and ensure an effective and sustainable internal control environment for entities within the position’s oversight
Liaise with greater Accounting team, Americas Commercial, GBU leaders and other business partners to provide accounting and reporting subject matter expertise
Support and lead aspects of enterprise transformation initiatives, including implementation of a global ERP solution and maturation of the global business services model
Lead professional development of team to create bench strength talent for the Finance organization and ensure talent is deployed appropriately to support areas of need
Lead, manage or support special projects as assigned
Qualifications:
Education and Experience
University degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance or related discipline
Professional certification in accounting (CPA or equivalent) that is actively maintained
Minimum of 14 years of professional experience in related function
Foundational experience with a big 4 public accounting firm and experience auditing or working in large, multi-national public company
Global, multinational company experience
Experience with SAP S/4HANA or other large ERP applications
Experience in a manufacturing company with medical device experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Strong financial and business acumen, as well as professional competence in U.S. GAAP and local accounting standards
Prior experience leading geographically dispersed teams, including demonstrated ability to grow and develop professionals

Ability to build relationships to partner with the business and work with various levels of internal and external constituencies, such as top leaders and key external partners
Superior communication skills, including verbal, oral and through presentations
High quality threshold with ability to understand details and formalize executive-level summarization
Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and pragmatic approach to solutioning and collaborative resolution; strong follow-through
Adept at leveraging technology and analytics to drive process improvement, build a contemporary accounting function
Ability to work in a challenging environment with multiple, changing, and competing priorities
Strong team orientation, and ability to fit in with Dentsply Sirona’s culture
Willingness to travel as necessary, approximately 20%
