Position Title: Spring Musical - Assistant Music Director Location: Upper Darby High School Status: $1,200.00 Work Period: 12/1/25 to 3/22/26
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
The Spring Musical Assistant Music Director will work with the music director to teach music parts and vocal stylings to the cast and supervise younger cast members during the production. Experience working with elementary through high school aged students in a theatrical setting Strong ability and willingness to teach and mentor high school aged students who are interested in theatrical production Experience with a variety of musical styles including classic/traditional musical theatre Strong skills in rhythm and musicality Knowledgeable in theatrical and music terminology and methodologies Strong experience with proper vocal technique and health Ability to run warmups Ability to work with the Music Director to teach music and vocal styles that reflect the style and concept of the production Ability to run rehearsals and breakout rehearsals without the Music Director present Must be able to play the piano Rehearsal Schedule to be discussed with Music Director and Production Manager Must be available for designer run, technical rehearsals, and performances outside of rehearsal schedule Must be able to meet physical demands of the position Including but not limited to moving rehearsal audio equipment
