Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Director of Engineering to lead the product engineering and management of their 3GPP modem portfolio for government and defense applications. This role is crucial in shaping product and technology strategy, ensuring alignment across commercial and consumer roadmaps as well as mission-critical government applications. Responsibilities: • Lead the development of modem product and technology strategies for government and defense applications by aligning Qualcomm’s product and technology roadmaps with mission-specific needs • Deliver high-impact, technically complex presentations to customers that articulate product roadmaps and capabilities; and incorporate customer feedback and requirements into QGOV product planning • Define and manage requirements and interdependencies across all modem products and technology areas for government use cases; drive execution across Engineering, Product Management (PM), Product Development Management (PdM), and Business Development (BD) teams • Collaborate with stakeholders and program sponsors to establish product goals (e.g., performance, cost, timeline, customer schedules), assess feasibility, and guide cross-functional decision-making Qualifications: Required: • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 10+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience. • OR Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 9+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience. • OR PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 8+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience. • 4+ years of work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc. Preferred: • Deep technical expertise in Qualcomm modem software architecture • Proven experience directing modem software releases and customer deliverables • Strong understanding of 3GPP specifications and ecosystem certification processes (e.g., PTCRB, GCF). • 20+ years of experience in modem engineering, including 10+ years in leadership roles Company: Qualcomm designs wireless technologies and semiconductors that power connectivity, communication, and smart devices.
