Lead A Modern Tax Team Without The Burnout Our Client is adding a Tax Senior Manager or Director to own a meaningful book, lead a sharp team of associates and manager on a hybrid basis, and partner directly with firm leadership. This is not a review-from-afar role. It is a leadership seat with real client impact, modern tools, and a sane approach to busy season. Why this is different Hybrid leadership that actually leads No outsourcing, all prep and projects are done in-house Real runway for growth as this role is being vacated due to a promotion Capacity planning that fixes the crunch without heroics What you will do Lead delivery for a defined client book across complex business returns (predominantly pass-through entities) and individual returns Manage staffing, workflow, and deadlines so quality wins without chaos Review complex returns and workpapers, translate findings for clients in clear language Coach managers and staff on technical depth, client communication, and project ownership Run point on tax planning, estimates, and IRS notice responses Partner with leadership on resourcing, pricing, and process improvements Use modern communication tools to keep work moving What makes this different Hybrid leadership so you actually see the work and the people you lead consistently, allowing for more opportunity to build that cohesive, connective tissue No outsourcing, quality is built in-house, and skills grow in-house Real leadership runway as a current tax leader transitions to a new role outside of tax Busy seasons managed by capacity planning, not burnout What you bring 8-10 years MINIMUM with at least five years as a Tax Manager, ideally already operating at the Senior Manager level.
