Senior Medical Director The role of the Senior Rheumatologist: Medical Director/Global Medical Indication Lead is an exciting opportunity to be part of a world-class organization conducting groundbreaking research. This position is fully remote, ideally based in the Eastern or Central Time Zone in the United States, with international travel required at approximately 10-20%. Responsibilities include:
Leading the clinical team for an indication, translating the Target Product Profile into a Clinical Development Plan, in collaboration with the cross-functional team.
Providing strategic medical insight and planning for the indication during all development stages, and owning the Clinical Development Plan.
Managing Global Clinical Trial Physicians, coaching and setting examples to ensure high-quality medical support and identifying potential high performers.
Overseeing medical aspects of studies, ensuring communication with management and study teams is consistent.
Safeguarding harmonization across studies to maintain efficient external stakeholder communication.
Leading medical advisory boards for the indication.
Building and maintaining a 'best in class' group of development medical doctors.
Ensuring compliance of all studies in the indication.
Essential Skills:
Medical Doctor or equivalent degree.
Specialty education in rheumatology, with patient treatment and/or research experience.
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in end-to-end drug development in the pharma/biotech industry.
Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
Proven leadership and interpersonal skills in a global and intercultural environment.
Expertise in clinical trial design, conduct, and interpretation of clinical data.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Board certification(s) preferred.
Experience in clinical research, medical affairs, and drug safety.
Phase III and submission experience.
Proven problem-solving and negotiation skills.
Work Environment:
This role is fully remote with occasional domestic and international travel.
Work is performed in an office environment with exposure to electrical office equipment.
The job requires frequent mobility, occasional physical activities like crouching and lifting up to 15-20 lbs.
Regular use of computer software and communication with diverse groups is expected.
The position demands independence, multitasking, and the ability to perform under stress with regular and consistent attendance.
Pay and Benefits:
The pay range for this position is $159.00 - $179.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
