Overview Senior Director, Service Business Development – Join to apply for the Senior Director, Service Business Development role at Vestas. This is a senior commercial leadership role responsible for owning and executing the commercial strategy for Vestas’ Service business in North America, delivering on regional KPIs that include FOI revenue and CM% targets. The role leads cross-functional collaboration, defines and evolves service offerings, and drives customer partnerships to safeguard profitability while expanding market presence. Responsibilities Develop and execute the Service Business Development strategy for North America, including defining new commercial offerings, partnership models, and customer engagement strategies. Evaluate market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify opportunities aligned with Vestas’ objectives. Guide the team’s commercial creativity while ensuring disciplined execution of priorities. Own the commercial positioning of service products, manage inputs from stakeholders on financial and operational risks, and create value. Build and nurture customer relationships, understanding their business needs and positioning Vestas as a trusted partner. Support the team in negotiations on complex deals with a focus on win-win outcomes and risk management. Seek feedback on performance from stakeholders and engage cross-functional partners to align offerings and delivery models with market needs. Promote accountability, learning, and development within the team and advocate for Vestas values. Act as a thought leader in the Service business to shape long-term market positioning. Participate in leadership of the Service Commercial team, fostering a healthy team culture and peer coaching. Lead or escalate negotiations to ensure profitability objectives are met. Qualifications 10+ years of experience in commercial leadership, sales, business development, or product management in energy, renewables, or industrial services. Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams. Experience in developing and implementing commercial approaches that drive results. Experience with CRM and building long-term partnerships; strong negotiation skills. Ability to balance strategic thinking with operational execution. Experience with quantitative analyses, financial modeling, and business case development. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM (Salesforce). Strong written and spoken communication; collaborative and inclusive leadership style. Ability to travel within the US and Canada (35% - 50% travel) with occasional international travel.
