Job Summary
The Senior Director, Project Management-Construction provides strategic leadership and oversight for complex, cross-functional projects that support organizational goals and healthcare initiatives. This role is responsible for the full project lifecycle - from concept through execution and post-implementation review - ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with enterprise priorities. The Senior Director partners with executive leadership, corporate departments, and hospital teams to develop actionable plans, allocate resources, and evaluate success metrics. This role aligns project execution with strategic objectives while fostering collaboration, accountability, and operational excellence.
Essential Functions
Leads and manages enterprise-wide projects by defining goals, establishing timelines, and ensuring alignment with organizational priorities.
Collaborates with cross-functional teams - including clinical, operational, financial, and executive stakeholders - to assess project feasibility and resource needs.
Develops comprehensive project plans that include scope, schedule, budget, milestones, and measures of success.
Oversees day-to-day project execution, monitors progress against timelines, and ensures that deliverables are completed to specification.
Ensures consistent project documentation, communication, and reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
Identifies and mitigates project risks, resolves issues, and ensures appropriate escalation paths are followed.
Collaborates with finance partners to establish project budgets and monitor financial performance throughout the project lifecycle.
Conducts post-implementation evaluations to measure outcomes, identify lessons learned, and inform continuous improvement.
Provides guidance and leadership to project managers and team members across multiple projects occurring concurrently.
Promotes a culture of accountability, transparency, and results-oriented project execution.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Complies with all policies and standards.
This position requires 50% travel.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Project Management, or a related field required
Master's Degree preferred
More than 10 years of progressive construction project management experience, including at least 10 years in a healthcare setting required
Proven experience leading large-scale, enterprise-level projects involving multiple disciplines and stakeholders required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong strategic thinking and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all organizational levels.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, project management software, and data visualization tools.
Ability to interpret financial and operational data to inform decision-making.
Skilled in stakeholder engagement, change management, and risk mitigation.
Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Comfortable navigating ambiguity and adapting plans to meet evolving business needs.
Licenses and Certifications
Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)-PMI preferred
