Overview Loyal is a clinical-stage veterinary medicine company developing drugs intended to extend the lifespan and healthspan of dogs. Our mission is to help dogs live longer, healthier lives. We are a well-funded startup in growth mode with a team spanning scientists, veterinarians, engineers, operators, and creatives. This role will support our growth strategies and bring one longevity drug pipeline through FDA approval while expanding Loyal's portfolio. You will be the go-to point of contact for all program-related activities, lead the program team in formulating strategies that align with corporate goals, and build and scale the program management infrastructure. You will work closely with the senior executive team. This role is suited for someone who wants to leverage program management to help transform Loyal into a commercial enterprise. The ideal candidate is a highly collaborative team player with strategic leadership, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and willingness to learn multiple disciplines. You will report to our Chief R&D Officer. Your daily work will include Serve as the program spokesperson. Own program timeline, understand dependencies, and ensure alignment with regulatory requirements. Lead cross-functional discussions to address risks, status, opportunities, and mitigation/acceleration strategies. Collaborate with functional leads to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and with quality standards. Escalate program issues that could impact timelines or cost; lead discussions to develop solutions and propose mitigation strategies to the executive team. Collaborate with functional leadership to assign subject matter experts and set clear goals for each project team member. Lead and coach teams to break down silos, promote collaboration, and align the program strategy with broader company initiatives. Create presentations, memos, and dashboards to communicate program status to general, technical, or executive audiences. Qualifications and attributes Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, or health-related field; advanced degree is a plus but not required. PMP or other project management certification is a plus but not required. 10+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical or life sciences field. Knowledge of discovery, preclinical development, clinical trial activities, CMC, and commercialization. Creative thinker with the ability to anticipate challenges and develop innovative solutions. Effective written and verbal communication skills for audiences from general to executive levels. Highly collaborative with strong interpersonal skills. Ability to take initiative and execute on time-sensitive needs. Experience in coaching/mentoring project managers.
