JOB SUMMARY The Senior Director, Operations Strategy is a strategic change leader responsible for driving impactful transformation across Global Operations (GO) and supporting key enterprise programs and discipline leaders. This role requires a demonstrated ability to think strategically, lead through influence, and build trust while navigating complex environments and executing initiatives. The Senior Director will lead and deliver cross-functional projects that directly support hotel properties in optimizing and elevating their operations. Through compelling storytelling and strong communication, this leader will help discipline leaders articulate their vision, influence stakeholders, and strengthen strategic partnerships both internally and externally. CANDIDATE PROFILE Required Experience and Education: 8–10 years of program/project management experience. BA/BS or equivalent Preferred Experience and Education: MBA or equivalent graduate degree Experience driving operations-based initiatives and projects for hotels, or within the lodging sector broadly Big Five Consulting experience Experience leading a team Proficiency in AI and PMO tools CORE WORK ACTIVITIES Lead high-impact, high-profile initiatives aligning to Global Operations disciplines (F&B, Rooms, Engineering, Technology, ESG, and Accountability), from assessment and strategic planning through to deployment readiness Drive alignment of projects with enterprise strategy , ensuring efforts support both short- and long-term business objectives across global hotel operations Collaborate closely with leaders , facilitating strategic sessions and workshops for Continent Presidents, Product Leaders, and other leaders to secure stakeholder buy-in and cross-functional alignment Apply a strategic lens to project work , evaluating downstream operational impacts, conducting financial impact analysis, and influencing design decisions that improve operational performance at scale Design and lead structured assessments and solution design phases , including prototyping, testing, and validating ideas prior to execution Operate effectively within a large, matrixed organization , building relationships across functions, navigating complex decision structures, and aligning diverse stakeholder groups Oversee governance processes , including project intake, prioritization, and performance tracking; ensure clear accountability structures and mitigate risks through proactive planning Facilitate communication across teams and stakeholders , managing issue escalation, status updates, and change management efforts to ensure clarity and momentum Integrate operational, technical, and ESG considerations into project/program design, identifying interdependencies and synergies across disciplines Champion the use of AI and other technology within the organization to drive speed and efficiency in project delivery This role requires the ability to travel up to 25%, including international travel At Marriott International, we are dedicated to being an equal opportunity employer, welcoming all and providing access to opportunity.
