POSITION SUMMARY:
CIBO Express is the OTG lifestyle brand focused on providing guests with the essentials they need to grab-and-go happier, healthier, and more connected than ever before. As a leader of the Merchandising Team, you will play a crucial role in contributing to building, launching, and promoting our brands and product categories.
As Senior Director of Merchandising, you will lead our brand and customer experience built on the premise that passengers want more from their airport time. This role is directly responsible for delivering plan by increasing product sales through assortment selection, promotional planning, and product placement. The Senior Director of Merchandising will have experience leading high-visibility and growth projects with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment. You will evolve the key systems that empower category managers to merchandise their assortment and shape shopper demand while ensuring the right balance between customer experience and business outcomes. This role connects directly to key OTG's growth initiatives, including both category and regional expansion and will require an obsession with both data and the OTG shopper experience to be successful. The Senior Director of Merchandising will report to the VP of Retail Markets. This position is hybrid-based in the New York office.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Delivering P&L annual plan through execution of strategic initiatives in cooperation with Operations.
Leading the brand and customer experience for shopper excellence while increasing product sales through assortment selection, promotional planning, and product placement.
Establishing an understanding of OTG's gourmet markets business, marketing strategies, and overall assortment.
Developing systems and processes for the Merchandising department.
Leading a team of category managers and being end-responsible for the results of the team.
Conduct market analysis and vendor business reviews both nationally and locally to ensure product lines are represented in all markets.
Assume responsibility of budget development and revenue for category.
Negotiate contracts to achieve the best possible volume purchasing cost, discounts, rebates, placement, annual incentives and other funding.
Research, syndicated data, and consumer-specific insights to inform creative and productive choices as it pertains to assortment and category management.
Select and position food, beverage, and retail category products.
Create full calendar promotion plans, working cross-functionally to implement.
Determine product assortment contingent with location requirements in mind as it pertains to volume, size, distribution, and local trends.
Track, measure and report financial impact of programs against financial targets.
Maintain product catalog information and master lists for forecasting and product delivery.
Collaborate with supply chain, buyers and merchandisers to expand product categories.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree preferred
8+ years of related experience in the convenience, e-commerce, or CPG industry.
Expertise leading a team of category managers.
Knowledge of supply chain, inventory management and finance.
Experience with managing large and intricate projects, leading cross-functional projects, and teams.
Excellent organizational skills and time management skills.
Merchandising and visual display skills preferred, knowledge of schematics and floorplans, ability to develop and build from scratch.
Background in promotional activity and contract negotiations, superior negotiation skills.
Strong Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Excel (can perform complex functions).
Ability to travel as needed (25%+).
Compensation: $140,000 - $160,000 per year plus bonus eligibility.
