About the Position
Senior Director of Marketing Services HEMS (Higher Edge Marketing Services) is a senior leadership role responsible for developing and refining the overall strategy, execution and performance of Higher Ed marketing services business line at the company. The role combines creative, strategic and operational functions to ensure success and growth of the marketing services business line. This candidate will work closely with the Senior Vice President responsible for the HEMS business line across all facets of the business to deliver results. HEMS establishes marketing services defined and sold to undergraduate, graduate and professional schools looking to promote and enroll students into their programs.
What You'll Do Strategic Leadership Develop and implement comprehensive business strategies and tactics across marketing services definition, design, implementation and operation.
Define the marketing services positioning, and competitive differentiation.
Collaborate with executive leadership and HEMS team members to identify growth opportunities, make and execute plans effectively. Team & Resource Management Lead and mentor the marketing services team (e.g., digital marketing, content, creative, media buying, analytics).
Recruit, train, and develop high-performing marketing staff.
Manage external vendors, agencies, and partners to extend marketing capabilities. Campaign Development & Execution Oversee planning, execution, and optimization of integrated marketing campaigns across email, web and other distribution channels to fulfill clients and department needs.
Ensure campaigns are consistent with brand messaging, marketing services positioning and meet KPIs.
Coordinate cross-functional teams within HEMS as well as across TPR (product, retail marketing, techdev, etc.) to align efforts. Marketing Operations & Processes Establish best practices in workflow, project management, and reporting.
Implement marketing automation platforms, CRM tools, and other technologies to streamline operations (primarily Braze, Google Ad Manager and Google Analytics).
Manage budgets, ensuring efficient allocation and ROI tracking. Data, Analytics & Reporting Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for marketing and client fulfillment effectiveness.
Provide insights through data-driven reporting on clients’ marketing services such as campaign performance across all channels.
Adjust strategies based on performance analysis to maximize outcomes. Brand & Communication Ensure brand consistency across all marketing materials and channels.
Oversee content strategy, creative development, and messaging. Stakeholder Collaboration Partner with sales to support new marketing services development.
Work with TPR product, retail marketing and techdev teams to launch new offerings and upgrade existing offerings.
Communicate business impact to executives and stakeholders. Who You Are Master’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field (MBA preferred).
10+ years of progressive marketing experience, with at least 5+ years in a senior leadership role.
Proven success in developing and executing integrated marketing strategies including campaign development and digital marketing execution plus search optimization methods and practices.
Expertise with marketing automation, CRM systems, and analytics platforms. Experience optimizing email reputation management Experience working with vendors and internal staff to create content across emails, ads, social posts, etc.
Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills. Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple initiatives in a dynamic environment. Strong analytical skills with ability to measure and optimize campaign performance. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience collaborating across teams. Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, strategic mindset. Experience managing product development projects using tools such as Jira
Experience in market research, business development, or project management preferred.
As part of a small, agile team, you must be willing to execute, as well as plan, all aspects of marketing services activities.
