They are seeking a Senior Director of Accounting to oversee the integrity and scalability of their accounting operations.
Base pay range $220,000.00/yr - $250,000.00/yr
The Role The Senior Director of Accounting will lead the accounting organization through a period of expansion and transformation. This role requires deep technical expertise, strong leadership, and the ability to design and implement processes that ensure compliance while enabling growth. The individual will partner closely with executives and cross-functional leaders to support strategic objectives while maintaining best-in-class financial governance.
Responsibilities Lead all accounting operations, ensuring timely and accurate reporting in accordance with US GAAP.
Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, consolidations, and financial statements.
Oversee external audits and serve as the primary point of contact with auditors.
Provide technical accounting guidance on complex and non-routine transactions.
Establish and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Design scalable processes and systems to support growth and IPO-readiness.
Implement and optimize ERP and accounting tools, including digital asset sub-ledgers.
Partner with cross-functional teams (finance, legal, operations, HR, compliance) on initiatives that impact accounting and reporting.
Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing accounting team, including defining structure and career development paths.
Stay current on evolving standards in crypto/digital asset accounting and ensure proper application.
Prepare management and investor reporting to support executive decision-making.
Qualifications 12+ years of progressive accounting experience, including at least 5 years in a public company environment.
Background with a Big 4 or top-tier public accounting firm strongly preferred.
Experience in blockchain, crypto, or fintech environments highly desirable.
Demonstrated track record with IPO preparation or public company transition.
In-depth knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting standards.
Proficiency in NetSuite or similar ERP; familiarity with crypto-native accounting systems (e.g., Bitwave, TaxBit) is a plus.
Strong Excel and analytical skills; exposure to reporting/BI tools advantageous.
Proven ability to recruit, develop, and scale accounting teams.
Comfortable operating in high-growth, fast-paced organizations.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to partner effectively across all levels.
International accounting experience, including consolidations, preferred.
Familiarity with digital asset concepts such as staking, DeFi, and stablecoins.
Exposure to SOX 404 implementation and public audit cycles is a plus.
