The Senior Director, Enterprise Program Leadership Strategy Realization, reports to the Vice President of the Strategy Management Office (SMO) and leads multi-divisional realization programs to ensure successful execution of strategic initiatives. This role is accountable for program, initiative, and SMO-level results. The Senior Director will provide subject matter expertise to senior and divisional leaders, independently think through and analyze solutions to problems, and develop initial hypotheses, frameworks, and methodologies. The role involves coordinating with the SMO VP on strategic direction, managing executive engagements, and implementing industry best practices and innovations to ensure world-class solutions. Additionally, the Senior Director ensures programs are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Program Leadership: Manage and ensure successful execution of multidivisional realization programs and initiatives that support more than one divisional strategic imperative. Ensures initiatives and programs are aligned with BMS's long-term goals
Subject Matter Expertise and Problem Solving: Provide subject matter expertise to senior / divisional leaders and colleagues. Independently think through and analyze solutions to problems and develop initial hypotheses, frameworks, and methodologies.
Decision Oversite and Role Complexity: Functions independently and coordinates with SMO VP on strategic direction and managing executive engagements. Coordinates initiative teams and SMO resources. Evaluates and implements industry best practices and innovations to ensure world-class solutions and continuous improvement. Partners with Senior Leaders and Realization Initiative Leads.
Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of projects within the enterprise program. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
Performance Metrics and Reporting: Establish and track performance metrics to evaluate the success of strategic initiatives. Present program outcomes and insights to senior leadership and stakeholders
Value Capture: Assess and captures value opportunities within strategic initiatives. Ensure that programs deliver tangible benefits and measurable results. Monitor progress and highlight risks to performance.
Strategic Change Execution: Facilitate stakeholder engagement and align teams to achieve strategic goals. Leverage change management techniques and industry best practices.
Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities for process enhancement and innovation. Encourage and support the adoption of best practices to drive ongoing organizational growth and efficiency. Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement.
Communications: Lead creation of project and initiative communications to drive engagement of key stakeholders and adoption of recommendations and solutions.
Qualifications and Experience
MBA or advanced degree in science or business.
Minimum of 3-6 years of management consulting experience supporting the pharma or life sciences industries, or equivalent experiences.
Minimum of 12-15+ years of industry-related experience in pharma or life sciences, including exposure to Agile, Design Thinking, Lean Six Sigma Business Process Management, data analytics, and/or programing including Python.
Proven track record of developing clear action plans, executing/implementing such plans and leading projects that have delivered value to the organization. PMP preferred.
Demonstrated results in large transformational efforts or complex consulting environments
Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders to drive organizational business outcomes.
Demonstrated financial acumen and experience with financial systems, analytics, planning, forecasting, actuals and reporting
Ability to work with complex information and distill it into a framework that helps facilitate decision making.
Demonstrated ability in navigating and thriving in complex matrix environments.
Proficient in communication and presentation skills.
Superior problem-solving and analytical abilities.
Strong financial and business planning skills.
Experience with enterprise integration is a plus
Preferred: strong proficiency in data analytics tools and technologies, such as SQL, Python, R, and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
