Role Expectations
As Senior Director of Commercial Card Experience, you will lead a cross-disciplinary team of design leaders and designers, collaborate with research, product, and technology leadership, and advocate for high-leverage opportunities with executive stakeholders. You will lead high-impact, complex design projects that set the standard for experience excellence and business outcomes.
You will envision, design, deliver, and optimize experiences across channels (web, mobile, human-to-human) and emerging technologies (such as agentic AI) to help business teams run their business with confidence. This will include products and experiences such as:
Onboarding and managing business teams across a suite of business credit card, rewards, and payment solutions to fit their needs, workflows, and software
Managing vendors, payments, getting paid, and spend controls across the business
Integrating software with ERPs, accounting systems, and HR systems to deliver reliable data, monitor cash flow, and provide insights for financial decisions
Managing corporate cards and digital wallets for different user types (C-suite, department heads, project teams, etc.)
Competencies
Product Design Expertise: Lead and elevate the design practice, oversee tools, platforms, design systems, and enable artifacts such as vision stories, journey maps, blueprints, high-fidelity designs, and prototypes
Leadership: Build a thriving design community, train for excellence, collaborate with peers, and set vision and strategic direction with cross-functional partners
Human-Centered: Align customer needs with business goals and incorporate diverse customer perspectives throughout the design process
Business-Focused: Understand products, processes, customers, competitors, and industry trends to shape design engagement and business outcomes
Problem-Solving: Drive cross-functional creative thinking, illuminate pitfalls, and build decision-making frameworks
Collaboration: Connect executives and teams to drive coherent experiences and accelerate delivery
Communication: Present to executives and stakeholders, integrating design, data, and research to influence direction
The ideal candidate has a strong portfolio showing leadership, process, results, and impact.
Qualifications
Basic: At least 10 years of experience leading product design teams and delivering products to market
Basic: At least 3 years managing managers
Preferred: At least 12 years of experience leading product design teams and delivering products to market
Preferred: Experience across product design, service design, design strategy, and content design
Preferred: Deep experience leading product design teams spanning UX/UI, strategy, content, and research
Preferred: Experience partnering with product, engineering, marketing, and analytics leaders across multiple business lines
Preferred: Experience interfacing with executive leadership to influence decisions and drive investments
Preferred: Experience working with a design system
Preferred: Proficiency with web and mobile technologies and platforms
Preferred: Expertise with design and prototyping tools such as Figma
Preferred: Experience managing an interdisciplinary design team
Preferred: Proficiency working with technology and platform teams to develop new systems and explore new technologies, including LLMs and agentic AI
Preferred: Proficiency in business case development linking product decisions to business value
Preferred: Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred: Exceptional people management and development skills
