Purpose The Sr. Director of Cloud Operations is responsible for the strategy, implementation, and oversight of the organization’s cloud-based infrastructure and services. This role leads the development and enforcement of operational procedures, DevOps practices, and governance frameworks that ensure the performance, availability, and security of cloud-hosted environments. The Sr. Director oversees both production and development environments, including CI/CD pipelines, automation tools, cloud-native platforms (e.g., Power Platform), and infrastructure as code (IaC) technologies. This role ensures alignment between enterprise cloud capabilities and business objectives, driving innovation and operational excellence. Responsibilities Leadership and Direction Report to the CIO/CISO and serve as the cloud operations authority on the IT leadership team.
Lead and develop a team of cloud engineers, DevOps professionals, and platform administrators.
Define and execute strategic roadmaps for cloud operations, DevOps maturity, and platform modernization.
Establish operational standards, KPIs, and continuous improvement plans across all cloud domains.
At the Operational and Company Level Partner with Information Security, Business Systems, and Infrastructure leaders to align on integrated cloud strategies.
Serve as the senior advisor on cloud-native tools, capabilities, and cloud cost optimization.
Establish governance practices for access, automation, resource provisioning, and incident management.
Do the Work Oversee enterprise-wide cloud operations including architecture, monitoring, alerting, and incident response.
Manage CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (IaC), and DevOps processes using tools such as Azure DevOps, Terraform, BICEP, and YAML.
Ensure stable and secure operations of production workloads hosted in cloud environments (e.g., Azure).
Own the administration and lifecycle of platform technologies like Microsoft Power Platform, Azure PaaS components, and API integrations.
Define cloud automation standards for deployments, patching, scaling, and resiliency.
Lead efforts to reduce cloud costs while maintaining performance and compliance.
Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning for cloud-hosted systems.
Collaborate on cloud migration, modernization, and platform integration projects.

Ability to effectively manage multiple time-sensitive tasks
Qualifications Minimum of twelve (12) years in IT, with at least five (5) years in cloud operations or DevOps leadership roles.
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
Proven experience managing cloud platforms (preferably Azure), DevOps tools, and cloud-native services.
Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (Terraform, BICEP), scripting (PowerShell, CLI), and cloud monitoring.
Experience administering Microsoft Power Platform, Azure integrations, and enterprise cloud platforms.
Strong understanding of cloud security, governance, and compliance standards (e.g., NIST, CIS, CAF/WAF).
Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer Expert preferred.
