Overview Fox Corporation’s Legal Technology group is seeking an experienced attorney to join our team. The Senior Director, Business and Legal Affairs - Technology will advise on technology solutions across the organization and draft, review, and negotiate a variety of technology agreements. The attorney will collaborate with subject matter experts within our legal teams and cross-functionally with colleagues across our organization, including Platform and Media Technology, Information Security, and Broadcast Operations teams, to provide legal support on technology issues relating to all aspects of FOX’s media businesses, including enterprise technology, broadcast production, delivery and distribution, procurement, sourcing and cyber security initiatives. The role involves working closely with privacy counsel and information security to ensure successful implementation of technology solutions. The Legal Technology team is fast-paced and collaborative, addressing challenging technical and legal issues in a rapidly evolving technology landscape. This position is based in our Los Angeles office.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial, technology, and software licensing agreements, including MSAs, SaaS agreements, and associated privacy and data processing terms (e.g., DPAs), consulting agreements, service level agreements, EULAs, sourcing agreements and software/equipment-related agreements
Provide practical contractual guidance to internal business clients, balancing business objectives with legal protections and escalating complex or novel issues to senior counsel as needed
Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to confidently collaborate with client stakeholders and colleagues on the legal team
Manage a high-volume workload of multiple projects by prioritizing effectively and escalating matters where appropriate
Develop and maintain knowledge of consumer protection, data use, privacy, and data security laws and regulations, as well as evolving industry standards, and seek senior input on complex compliance questions
What you will need Bachelor’s Degree and Juris Doctor Degree from a top-tier ABA-accredited U.S. law school
Admission to the State Bar of California is preferred. Registered In-House Counsel is acceptable
6-8 years of combined relevant experience at a leading law firm and/or in-house in a technology or media/entertainment company, and fast-paced environment
Meaningful experience with commercial technology licensing (e.g., SaaS) and other procurement transactions, as well as demonstrated experience with artificial intelligence and related technologies
Familiarity with ancillary subject matter associated with new media, digital and technology matters (e.g., FCC, FTC, copyright, and privacy legislation and industry practices). Experience with data and information privacy/security best practices
Excellent negotiating and drafting skills, with strong attention to detail and sound analytical abilities
Ability to balance legal protections with practical business needs, while identifying and escalating issues requiring strategic direction
Demonstrated ability to manage projects independently on routine matters, while working collaboratively with senior colleagues on more complex issues
Strong communication, judgment, and relationship-building skills
Nice to have but not a dealbreaker Experience with digital platforms and streaming products

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $179,000.00-222,000.00 annually. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
