Our Sales Manager will be responsible for overseeing the development, coordination and direction of profitable sales within a specified region. Duties include acting as the leader of your territory by managing a team of sales professionals, implementing and fostering corporate initiatives, maintaining supplier relationships and growing Veritiv’s customer base. This position requires a “take the wheel” approach for the entire sales process along with strong skills for intelligence gathering, prospecting to negotiating and account management. Job Purpose

Duties include acting as the leader of your territory by managing a team of sales professionals, implementing and fostering corporate initiatives, maintaining supplier relationships and growing Veritiv’s customer base. This position requires a “take the wheel” approach for the entire sales process along with strong skills for intelligence gathering, prospecting to negotiating and account management.
Job Responsibilities
Work directly with Sales Representatives to grow business in existing and new accounts, and conducts annual customer visits. Direct and coordinate product and service promotions to expand market presence and strengthen competitive positioning. Mentor and develop the Sales Team to improve performance and support overall sales strategy and growth. Set sales goals and quotas; provide guidance on sales techniques and shares accountability for Division sales results. Conduct quarterly account reviews and partner with leadership to drive sales growth and profitability through improved gross margins. Analyze sales statistics to support strategic planning and individual sales performance improvement. Manage budgeting by reviewing requests, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and allocating operational funds effectively. Lead change management, model company values, handle staffing decisions, and fosters a positive, team-oriented sales culture.
Additional Responsibilities & Qualifications
In conjunction with the National Sales Manager and the Regional Vice President, develop and implement Sales Management strategic and tactical plans needed to achieve the budget and growth expectations. Recruit, hire and train Sales Representatives Coach, mentor and teach the Sales organization and drive the adoption of internal and external best practices. Build Sales Representatives’ ability to create and maintain viable pipelines of projects, prospects, and new accounts. Conduct monthly, quarterly and annual reviews with Sales Representatives to grow and improve sales performance. Utilize proficiency with Power BI to track and analyze sales growth and implement efficiencies. Refine existing tools and develop new tools and practices and tailor these to the region’s needs. Strong business acumen, with a proven track record of delivering sales results. Demonstrated competency in strategic thinking and leadership, with strong abilities in relationship management. Demonstrated leadership of multidiscipline, high-performance work teams/groups. Key Competencies: Cultivates Innovation, Delivers Results, Customer Focused, Action Oriented. Up to 50% travel may be required.
Work Experience
Ability to work quickly and efficiently
3-5 years of related experience of successful supervisory/management experience required to motivate and develop direct reports, as well as size up new talent. Must possess a thorough understanding of the distribution business. Strong problem-solving and attention to detail skills are required.

Physical Requirements
A significant portion of the job responsibilities will require computer work that involves the continuous use of the fingers, hands, wrists, and sitting for long periods of time. The position also requires frequent lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds. The position requires work in an office as well as travel to customers, suppliers, group meetings, etc.
