Insurance & Employee Benefits Sales Director

Location: Must live within commuting distance of Owings Mills, MD

Work Setup: Hybrid but primarily remote; in-office only as needed (no weekly schedule)

Compensation: $75,000–$85,000 base + annual bonus (total comp $120K+)

About the Role

You will build and grow relationships with unions, brokers, consultants, and employer groups across the Mid-Atlantic region. You will generate new business, expand market reach, promote benefits consulting and TPA services, and position the organization as a trusted partner for employee benefits solutions. The role blends remote work with occasional in-person collaboration at the Owings Mills office.


What You Will Do

  • Develop relationships with labor union leadership
  • Sell and promote consulting, enrollment, and TPA services
  • Build and maintain broker, consultant, and employer relationships
  • Identify and pursue new business through outreach and referrals
  • Expand opportunities within existing relationships
  • Lead consultative sales meetings and present tailored solutions
  • Coordinate onboarding with internal teams
  • Represent the organization at industry events
  • Track pipeline activity and maintain CRM records
  • Share market insights to improve products and strategy


What You Bring

  • At least 5 consecutive years of insurance industry experience with steady tenure
  • Experience in employee benefits, voluntary/ancillary benefits, or related insurance fields
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple opportunities and drive consultative sales
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office
  • Self-motivation and comfort working independently
  • Willingness to travel across the Mid-Atlantic region as needed
