Reporting to the General Manager, the Sales Director will oversee the Sales and Product Support team for the North American (USA, Mexico & Canada) dealer network of the Fuchs Material Handlers manufactured in Germany; this is a defined leadership role within the Terex MP organization, which will require vision, clarity of communication, entrepreneurship and resilience to lead and marshal resources within US, focus skills and attention to grow the region and engage leadership to support the needs of the Fuchs business in the US.
Responsibilities:
Increase Fuchs product line sales across all the regions in the US as well as Canada and Mexico through successful engagement and leadership of a strong dealer network; expand dealer network through evaluating their suitability to represent the company's products or services. i.e. conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify potential opportunities for growth.
Relationship Management: Building strong and mutually beneficial relationships with dealers, acting as their primary point of contact within the company. Addressing any concerns or issues that dealers may have and working collaboratively to achieve common goals.
Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve sales targets.
Accountable for accurate sales forecast, securing sales orders according to targets and ensuring business is compliant to all legislative and company requirements.
Coach sales team in key skills of dealer management including floor planning and technical training.
Training and Support: Organizing training sessions and workshops for dealers to enhance their product knowledge, sales skills, and customer service capabilities.
Market Analysis: Keeping abreast of market trends, customer preferences, and competitor activities. Providing insights and recommendations to the company's management team for strategic decision-making.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Developing and managing budgets for dealer development activities and providing forecasts for sales and market growth.
Reporting: Prepare and maintain scorecard reports on brand performance, market trends, and progress towards goals; present reports to senior management, providing recommendations for improvement on a regular scheduled basis.
Collaborate with the factory on product developments, market trends, production forecasts and order intake.
Control expenses, machine & parts discounts and improve margins as agreed upon budget.
Ensure customers have access to parts personnel, field service and other team members as necessary.
Ensure team oversees proper selection, use and application of equipment, developing brand for long term.
Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum 5 years of sales experience selling heavy/ capital equipment
Minimum 3 years of experience with dealer management relative to capital equipment
Minimum 3 years' supervisory or management experience
Computer literate and proficient in the Microsoft office suite
Valid driver's license and passport
Ability to work flexible hours as required
Preferred Qualifications:
College degree
Affinity for technical product expertise with capital equipment
Successful track record in growing sales within a region through the successful appointment and development of dealers
Previous experience of large equipment business, particularly material handling equipment
Demonstrated ability to drive growth in an underdeveloped region
Proven sales growth record across a range of products and a variety of applications
Brand development experience, with an understanding of the complexities of success
Experience of working with a diverse customer base
Proven success in negotiating and closing deals
Articulate both verbally and in written communications with internal and external partners Confident style when presenting both formally and informally to potential customers and other Team Members. English (spoken and written) is essential for this position.
Committed to teamwork across a functional environment
Thorough understanding of budget development and management
Enthusiastic and able to work under pressure and on own initiative
Ability to work independently and use available resources to complete tasks with minimal supervision
Interacts well with others in a diverse environment and be a team player
