POSITION PURPOSE:

Plan, schedule and implement clinical training for all staff to meet federal/state long term care guidelines and regulations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION:

Develop new training tools as needed

Interview applicants, recommend hires; participate in counseling to extent permitted by law

Coordinates, implements and maintains records for all in-service and training for staff

Completes orientation, training, and skill checks of all new employees

Assists in maintaining the nursing department's work schedule per facility staffing pattern

EDUCATION/ REQUIREMENTS: Must be skilled in directing, motivating and training staff and able to work as a member of a team; able to communicate effectively with residents, family members and all levels of the organization and maintain confidentiality. Should be a graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing with valid RN state license, and a minimum of 2 years nursing experience and 1 year long term care experience. Must be able to be on call every 3-4 weekends as needed.
