General Summary of Position MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center is looking for an Assistant Director of Nursing for the Float Pool/Resource Management Department. This position is Full Time with a 40-hour work week on day and evening shift rotation. Overview Our hospital center provides high-quality clinical care with advanced technology and dedicated specialists. We strive to deliver comprehensive inpatient, outpatient, and community services in Southern Maryland, with a focus on patient-centered care, safety, and wellness. Responsibilities Direct and coordinate the nursing and patient care delivery for the assigned unit/department. Ensure the provision of holistic, culturally competent, person-centered, quality, safe, and cost-effective evidence-based nursing care. Apply the nursing process within the organization\'s shared/collaborative decision-making framework. Collaboratively manage patient transitions across the continuum of care to support optimal health and functioning. Assume administrative and leadership authority and responsibility 24 hours / 7 days per week for the assigned unit/department. Foster a culture of quality, safety, and cost-conscious patient care outcomes. Collaborate with the Director of Nursing to maintain adherence to regulatory and accreditation standards and MedStar Health policies. Demonstrate leadership aligned with MedStar\'s mission, vision, SPIRIT Values, patient care philosophy, and ethical judgment. Qualifications BSN Required; MSN Preferred 3-5 years RN experience in ED or Critical Care nursing 2-4 years Nursing Leadership experience in ED or Critical Care nursing This position has a hiring range of $100,588.00 - $190,340.00
