General Summary
This position works under the direction of the Chief Clinical Officer. Coordinates all services delivered by the treatment team. Provides training and mentoring to direct care staff to ensure the highest quality of Trauma Informed Care is offered to all Youth Home patients. Supervises all assigned team members. Is a member of the Professional Staff Organization. This is a safety sensitive position.
Duties & Responsibilities
Selects, orients, schedules, supervises, evaluates and terminates assigned team members to ensure that patients are provided a safe, secure and positive environment where patient’s physical and socio-emotional needs are met. Develops and implements systems to monitor critical functions and activities of designated programs, including but not limited to, timelines and appropriateness of all established documentation and staff performance in dealing with critical incidents. Ensures that documentation is written such that Youth Home’s team members, third party reviewers, and future providers can discern the plan, course and effectiveness of treatment. Assumes the duties of the Clinical Therapist in the event of absence or vacancy. Coordinates admissions and discharges with admissions team to maintain optimal census. Provides liaison with other agencies and the community in developing linkages for patients and programs, including tours, agency meetings, etc. Takes initiative to make Youth Home a positive environment and leads by example while working as a team player promoting the mission, vision and values. Completes other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Strong written and verbal skills; ability to read, analyze and interpret professional journals, technical procedures and government regulations Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, patients, licensed associates and the general public Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions Basic understanding of calculation of figures
Education And/or Experience
Must be a qualified mental health professional as defined by state standards. Past experience in mental health and utilization of community resources is preferred. Strong management and leadership experience.
Must Have One Of The Following Current Credentials
Master’s Degree in Social Work and licensed by the state of Arkansas; or Master’s Degree and licensed by the State of Arkansas as a Psychological Examiner; or Master’s Degree and a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Associate Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, or Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist by the State of Arkansas.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Team members are required to sit, stand, talk, see, walk and reach with hands and arms. Must be able to personally restrain patients. Must maintain a current tuberculosis skin test. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Founded in 1966, Youth Home, Inc., located in Little Rock, Arkansas, is a private non-profit mental health provider. In the mid-1980's, Youth Home's program developed into a medical model directed by child and adolescent psychiatrists. Our continuum of care includes adolescent intensive residential and qualified residential treatment, specialty tracks, and school-based services, as well as outpatient services for individuals of all ages. Youth Home, Inc. is accredited by The Joint Commission, the nation's oldest and largest accrediting body for healthcare providers.
