THE ROLE
The YES Prep Leadership Pathway was created to ensure we are providing leaders with a compelling vision for their continued growth at YES Prep, and to guarantee that we have a strong internal pipeline for talent as we expand and respond to staffing challenges that impact the YES Prep experience for students, families, and staff.
The YES Prep Leadership Pathway exists to pave a compelling path of growth for campus-based leaders, to ensure that we are building an internal bench of high-performing talent. Leaders on the Pathway have access to aligned training, development, coaching, and evaluation, and can use these tools to chart a path of career growth within our organization and beyond.
This residency is a developmental role between manager and director levels. Residents are hired centrally and will have access to the same onboarding and year-long development as Directors who are in their first year of the role. The Resident Director of Campus Operations (RDCO) role is designed to provide crucial support and continuity on campus when a Director of Campus Operations (DCO) is on leave or there's a vacancy, the RDCO steps in to ensure everything runs smoothly. This role not only fills in the gaps but also offers on-the-job training, allowing the RDCO to gain valuable experience by serving as the acting director.
Residents will be placed under the guidance of a Home Office manager while being campus-based and paired with a Lead DCO for mentorship and coaching.

Oriented toward agility and flexibility regarding work location (ready and willing to be placed at any campus, ready to be considered for mid-year vacancies, understands that on-site manager may change throughout the school year)
Key Campus Operations Goals Enrollment: 100% filled seats by October 31 and 99% maintained year-round.
Attendance: Meet or exceed a 95% Average Daily Attendance (ADA).
Safety: Tier 1 rating (90%+) on the Safety & Security Operations Scorecard.
Fiscal Stewardship: Operate at or under budget while maintaining district compliance to finance policy.
Systems & Scheduling: 100% accurate schedules completed ahead of deadlines to maximize student achievement.
School Readiness: 100% of operational readiness goals met for the 2025-2026 school year.
When you join the YES Prep team, some of the work and responsibilities will include:
Operational Leadership
Responsible for learning the systems, processes and procedures necessary to serve as a Director of Campus Operations;
Participating in extensive professional development and training to become knowledgeable in all responsibilities and duties listed below;
Utilizing opportunities to manage the day-to-day operations of existing schools;
Providing support and assistance to campuses on an as needed basis by stepping in to serve as a member of the operations team;
Participating in, or leading, special projects as assigned for the Home Office Operations Team.
If placed as Interim Director of Campus Operations during Residency, you can be expected to do all the following:
Systems and Scheduling:
Driving campus efforts to reach all enrollment, attendance, and budgetary goals;
Overseeing the creation and implementation of accurate master schedules for students and staff before key deadlines;
Utilizing innovative systems and processes to enhance operational efficiency and staff productivity;
Supporting the PTO approval process and ensure coverage for every classroom or duty position;
Supervising the school’s vendor services – transportation, food service, and facilities;
Supporting backfilling efforts to ensure grade-level seats remain filled year-round;
Team Leadership
Fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability within the campus operations team;
Managing daily administrative operations including establishing work priorities and assisting in resolving problems related to day-to-day operations;
Demonstrating trustworthiness in dealing with confidential matters;
Safety and Security
Maintaining the campus facilities and oversee campus events, ensuring they are well-executed and aligned with school and district priorities;
Implementing and overseeing emergency operating procedures, including training for staff and students and acting as Incident Commander in crisis response;
Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year institution required.
2-3 years of experience in business, operational, or school-based leadership roles.
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to influence and inspire teams
Ability to work in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment and maintain emotional constancy
Proficiency in analyzing data and leveraging technology to optimize processes.
Ability to lead large-scale operational initiatives and meet ambitious goals.
THE PERKS
Compensation – This position is an exempt, salaried position; offers commensurate with experience.
Health and Supplemental Insurance – A $0 monthly medical option that includes $600 towards a Health Savings Account, in addition to a variety of supplemental benefits including Dental, Vision, Disability, Life, etc. Employees must work 20+ hours a week to be eligible for a full spectrum of benefits, and 10 hours a week minimum for medical benefits.
