Job Summary

The Remote Long-Term Services and Supports Medical Director is primarily responsible for reviewing Home and Community-Based Services authorization requests to determine medical necessity and ensure compliance with Federally mandated turnaround times.

Pay : $108 – 128 an hour based on experience (overtime will be paid at 1.5 times the normal hourly pay rate).

Hours: Full Time - Monday-Friday 9am-5pm preferred, but can be flexible

Job Duties: Review Home and Community-Based Services authorization requests daily for medical necessity and compliance with applicable regulations Apply clinical judgment and established criteria to support care decisions for members with complex health and social needs Collaborate with care management and utilization management teams to ensure continuity and quality of care

Requirements Doctoral degree or higher Active, unrestricted Virginia medical license (MD or DO) in good standing Board Certified through American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) Experience working with Medicaid and Medicare members with complex medical and social needs A reliable high-speed internet connection (the faster the better) Ability to pass a background check and drug test Private, quiet, and distraction-free workspace in a room with a closed-door Highly Preferred Large corporation experience Health plan / managed care / healthcare industry experience
