Regional Retail Director The Regional Retail Director is responsible for overseeing the operations, performance, and compliance of both our Washington, DC and Maryland cannabis retail locations. This role ensures that each store meets or exceeds sales goals, adheres to company policies and state/local cannabis regulations, maintains excellent customer service standards, and develops high-performing leadership teams. The ideal individual has multi-unit retail leadership experience, a passion for the cannabis industry, and a strong understanding of regulatory compliance, team development, and business strategy. Your role in caring for our company: The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Store Management & Execution Partner with our Regional Purchasing Manager to source and negotiate with regional vendors and licensed cannabis brands. Build strong relationships with suppliers to secure optimal pricing, priority access to top products, and marketing support. Evaluate product performance and manage the SKU lifecycle. Forecast product demand using sales data, trends, and seasonal factors. Ensure compliance with state and local cannabis purchasing regulations. Develop and implement regional merchandising plans that align with brand standards and drive sell-through. Collaborate with retail operations and marketing teams on promotional calendars, displays, and in-store signage. Regularly audit stores for merchandising consistency and effectiveness. Partner with inventory teams to maintain appropriate stock levels, reduce overstocks, and limit shrinkage. Monitor product turnover and initiate markdowns or promotions as needed. Work with data analysts, store managers, and marketing teams to inform buying decisions and promotional strategies. Provide training and insights to store staff on new product lines and merchandising initiatives. Community/Smoke Lounge Development & Implementation Lead the planning, development, and launch of community/smoke lounge operations in Washington, DC, in alignment with local laws and company vision. Partner with senior leadership to secure necessary permits and ensure the lounge operates within regulatory guidelines. Collaborate with senior leadership, marketing, and store management to build out the lounge experience, including layout, ambiance, menu offerings, and customer flow. Define and implement SOPs for lounge operations, staffing, guest safety, ventilation, consumption limits, and product tracking. Develop marketing and customer engagement strategies to drive traffic and establish the lounge as a premium brand experience. Track lounge performance metrics (e.g., guest satisfaction, revenue, dwell time) and continuously optimize operations for profitability and customer appeal. Serve as the primary liaison between senior leadership and store management to ensure a seamless and consistent retail-lounge integration. Team Leadership & Performance Analytics Foster a culture of professionalism, guiding teams to achieve optimal results. Understand and own every aspect of the retail team's performance; set targets, drive execution, and hold the team accountable for both individual and team results. Collaborate effectively with the Human Resources Department and appropriate partners to implement and manage the company's policies and procedures. Partner with the Human Resources Department to monitor staff performance, provide timely feedback, along with development goals, assign accountabilities, set objectives, establish priorities, conduct annual performance evaluations, and administer salary adjustments. Retain and develop top performers by understanding individual's motivations and providing actionable feedback. Addresses low performance quickly, compassionately, and in alignment with company policies. Manage employee's scheduling, basic time off requests, performance reviews, etc . All other duties as necessary. Qualifications we ask you to have: For legal reasons, all employees need to be at least 21 years of age. You will be asked to pass a Federal and State criminal history background check. We ask that you have a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field. We ask that you have a minimum of five (5) years of experience that demonstrates growth and/or advancement in complexity, difficulty, or level of responsibility. We ask that you have a minimum of seven (7) years of multi-unit retail leadership (cannabis, specialty retail, QSR, or CPG strongly preferred). We ask that you have excellent leadership skills, with steadfast resolve, personal integrity, and business acumen. Ability to travel regularly between Washington, DC and Maryland. Strong work ethic, integrity, and desire to be accountable, transparent and proactive Work Schedule/Location: On-site three (3) days per week in Maryland, and two (2) in Washington, DC but could change contingent on operation demands.
