Job Summary Working as a Regional Director of Operations (RDO), you will lead, manage, and inspire a team of District Managers and other leaders in your region. You will be part of the regional leadership team and provide planning, direction, and guidance to the accounts in your territory, while establishing and maintaining strong client relationships. Your goal is to achieve operational and financial goals in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities Lead, manage, and inspire a diverse team of District Managers and other leaders to provide top-notch service.
Build strong client relationships and drive achievement of KPIs (profitability, safety, engagement, etc.).
Serve on the regional leadership team; communicate with peers to share best practices, mitigate risks, champion diversity, and build community.
Own all accounts within the assigned territory; coordinate with key partners and make decisions balancing risk/reward and short/long-term implications.
Support RVP in setting regional cultural tone; ensure transparency, safety, accountability, and alignment within the extended team.
Represent the Chartwells brand to senior clients in the territory and act as escalation point.
Collaborate with regional team members to ensure smooth Sales and Retention processes for all accounts (presentations, negotiations, etc.).
Work with key partners to support regional initiatives; ensure QA, policy, and USDA program compliance and timely reporting.
Champion development with the RVP within the region; conduct performance evaluations and succession planning to build multi-unit management skills; understand all roles in operation.
Own the financial results/P&L for the assigned territory; collaborate with the leadership team on accuracy for reporting, forecasting, and budgeting.
Ensure consistent and fair administration of all policies and procedures.
Recognize and anticipate marketplace trends; participate in regional strategic planning meetings.
Qualifications Required Bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited college or university, or eight (8) years of progressive experience in multi-unit foodservice, hospitality management, plant operations management, environmental services, laundry distribution, or other support services in lieu of degree.
Preferred Strong background in senior leadership with exposure to contract/budget management, customer service, people development, food services, negotiations, etc.
Proven track record of growing a business and leading teams with strong financial acumen.
Ability to think quickly, analytically, strategically, and accurately; excellent client relationship, influencing, listening, and communication skills.
Commitment to inclusion, proactive, flexible, professional, and resilient; demonstrates initiative, ownership, and organization skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Suite.
Extensive travel is required for this position.
